Core Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects throughout all phases of the project lifecycle. It is expected that the Project Manager delivers projects according to scope and specifications, on time and within budget, while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate must be self-directed, capable of managing multiple project stakeholders, and have proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Core tasks will include:
Managing the full lifecycle delivery of engineering projects from concept through to installation and commissioning
Acting as the primary interface between M.E. Engineering and the client throughout project delivery
Defining project scope, deliverables, and technical requirements in collaboration with clients and internal teams
Managing project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project outcomes
Coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams including process, mechanical, electrical, and drafting personnel
Reviewing and overseeing development of technical design documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and general arrangements
Managing procurement activities including contractor work packages and third-party equipment suppliers
Leading risk management activities including risk assessments HAZOP studies
Monitoring and reporting project performance including schedule, cost, and quality metrics
Managing subcontractors and site installation activities where required
Supporting installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities at client sites
Maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
Contributing to continuous improvement of internal project delivery systems and processes
Lead and manage the Queensland team and satellite office operations, ensuring team performance, and alignment with company objectives while maintaining strong communication with the head office
Travel for meetings, installation monitoring, site troubleshooting and commissioning will be required.
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Engineering degree in Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
5–10 years’ experience delivering engineering projects within the process, food & beverage, brewing, pharmaceutical or chemical industries
Demonstrated project management experience delivering capital projects
Strong understanding of process plant design and implementation
Excellent communication skills (English), both written and verbal
Ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities
Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules and resources
Experience managing contractors and equipment suppliers
Outstanding attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments
Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Flexibility to travel interstate when required
Desirable Experience
Experience delivering projects in brewing, distilling, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
Experience with process plant installation and commissioning
Familiarity with AutoCAD or Plant 3D design environments
Formal Project Management training or certification (PMP or equivalent)

Core Responsibilities
This is a technical, delivery-focused drafting role working closely with engineers and project managers on live industrial projects.
You will be responsible for:
Producing detailed mechanical and piping drawings
Developing 3D equipment and piping models using AutoCAD Plant 3D
Generating piping isometrics, equipment lists, and fabrication documentation
Collaborating directly with engineers to ensure drawings are accurate, buildable, and practical
Supporting multiple projects across food, beverage, and pharmaceutical facilities
This role suits someone who enjoys seeing their designs built, not just issued.
Skills & Experience Required
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D (essential)
5–10 years’ experience in mechanical piping drafting and 3D modelling
Solid understanding of process plant layout, piping routing, and constructability
Experience working in a project-driven engineering environment
High attention to detail and strong drawing standards
Confident written and spoken English communication
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
Willingness to travel interstate occasionally for project support
Note: This role is specifically AutoCAD / AutoCAD Plant 3D based. Experience in other platforms (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit) alone will not be sufficient.
